About the Director, R.K. Public School
Alakh Nath Pandey was born in a rural family at the village Unchari in Majhiaon. He attained his primary education at the village itself. Thereafter, his family moved to the District headquarters at Garhwa where he completed his Secondary and Senior Secondary school. He wanted to study Engineering and he went to SIT, Tumkur for his B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering.
At that juncture of his life, he had a very tough choice to make between going for a well- paid job in a Corporate firm and returning back to the home where he was born and brought up. He chose the road less travelled and returned to Garhwa as he wished to contribute towards the development of his modest District in whichever way possible. At that point of time, Garhwa was facing multiple problems like: The Naxal Movement, A severe lack of public infrastructure, acute illiteracy, Governmental Apathy, and migration to other states in search of jobs. He pondered over the best possible way to minimize suffering and alleviate the people and he finally got the idea of starting an educational institution. Education turned out to be the tool that empowered the general citizenry of the District and instead of migrating to other states, they started creating employment opportunities in their own land.
He has been an active social worker since the 1990s. He started the R.K. Public School, Garhwa in the year 1994 which became the Ist school in Garhwa to get affiliated by the CBSE. The contribution of the institution to the educational upliftment of the entire Garhwa District is insurmountable. It has produced toppers who went on to scale great heights in their professional careers and who stood stiff even in the face of the toughest competitors. The institution has recently celebrated its Silver Jubilee and stands the tallest among all other such establishments in the District.
He was the founder of the Giants Group of Garhwa which is the leading organization in the District working for the upliftment of the people in various ways. There have been innumerable blanket distribution, medicine distribution, health check up, blood donation, environment awareness, legal aid camps organized under his tutelage by the Giants Group.
He also laid the foundation of the District Public School Coordination Committee ( DPSCC) which is another organization involved in a variety of events of social and educational importance. The Committee organizes the Inter- School Cricket Tournament and the District Level Scholarship Competitions yearly. They also organize Independence Day and Republic Day events in the District Town Hall yearly.
He also founded the Red Cross Society in the District which undertakes various measures to support the most needy in terms of health and awareness. In a District with such low literacy, he has helped to solve the problem of a lack of blood donors with the help of the Red Cross Society and its infrastructure.
His quest to eradicate illiteracy and speed up the process of educating the masses has led to the foundation of another CBSE Affiliated school in the rural area of Majhiaon by the name of R.K. Public School, Unchari, Majhiaon. In addition to that, he has also founded the R.K.V.S Vyavasaik Shikshan Sansthan, Garhwa which is a B. Ed college and offers courses in D.L.Ed as well.
He is the light that has illuminated the Garhwa District for more than 25 years in the field of education and social welfare.
